STAR CLIPPER

July 11 to 21, 2009 Athens to Venice

Once you have truly “sailed” – even voluntarily (!) assisted with the hoisting of the sails climbed to the “Eagles Nest” for your very own lookout ... you will be “hooked” for Life!

We sail from Athens on Saturday, July 11. The next day we experience the charms of Mykonos, with it’s bustling Capital of Hora.

Monday we are awaken to the incredible sight of Santorini which, in 1500 BC, was changed to it’s present crescent shape thru a mighty Volcanic Explosion, only leaving a rim on which the main town is perched today, and a sloping “backside” used mainly for agriculture. Next call,Yithian.

On Wednesday we are at sea, soaking up the sun, reading a book in the forward Bow’s netting, underneath the waves gently lapping on our incredible Sailing Ship! Have that cocktail, while reading up on the fabulously scenic spots we are yet to discover.

Thursday brings us to Corfu, the lushest of all the Greek Islands, and only a stone’s throw from Albania. Friday you anchor at Montenegro’s Kotor, and Saturday Dubrovnik, the first of the Croatian ports of call invites! Said George Bernard Shaw: “Those who seek paradise on earth should come to Dubrovnik”. You have arrived!

Next stops are Korcula, Hvar (birthplace of Marco Polo) and Mali Losinj with it’s famed 30 kms long “Cikat Bay”. Explore it’s Fortified Town of “Veli Losinj” and frolic on the beach! We arrive into Venice on July 22.
